LIP Internship Program is a long standing summer program for Physics, Engineering and Science students, in which interns work on a project between two weeks and two months.

Registration for the 2026  edition is available here from 27/04/2026 until 08/05/2026

Students should indicate five projects in order of preference. The projecs of this year edition can be found here.

The summer program includes the week of July 6–10 with common lectures on Introduction to Particle Physics and Astroparticle Physics, detectors & experimental methods, and tutorial sessions on computing tools for data analysis. Attendance is mandatory — either in person at the pole where the lecture is given, or remotely for students from the other poles.

In 2026, as usual, the internships will start in June and end in September, the detailed program will appear soon.

The summer program ends with a workshop where each intern contributes a summary presentation of their work. The full agenda can be found here.

At the end of the internship, participants are given the opportunity to produce a final paper summarising their work; you can find previous ones here.

You can browse the proposed topics, materials and presentations of previous editions in “Past Events“.

LIP also hosts internship students outside the Summer, the projects proposed for last Summer can serve as an example of which kinds of topics each group offers, and give you initial contacts for your search. You can find them here.
