In a reciprocal way, phenomenology helps in determining which are the most effective experimental tests for our theoretical models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><em>Who are we?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Phenomenology Group at the Laborat\u00f3rio de Instrumenta\u00e7\u00e3o e F\u00edsica Experimental de Part\u00edculas (LIP) focuses its efforts on two of the most active and enthralling fields of particle physics: Quantum Chromodynamics (<a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/pheno\/research-activity\/#QCD\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/pheno\/research-activity\/#QCD\">QCD<\/a>) and physics Beyond the Standard Model (<a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/pheno\/research-activity\/#BSM\" data-type=\"page\">BSM<\/a>). This includes \u2014 but is not limited to \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/pheno\/research-activity\/#HICs\" data-type=\"page\">Heavy Ion Collisions<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/pheno\/research-activity\/#Forward\" data-type=\"page\">Forward Physics<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/pheno\/research-activity\/#pQCD\" data-type=\"page\">perturbative QCD corrections<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The activities of the group are distributed over three nodes located in Lisboa, Coimbra and Minho.
