Bringing together expertise in particle detection, instrumentation, and simulation, the group works at the interface of fundamental research and healthcare innovation.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    Particles4Health operates within LIP\u2019s Biomedical Applications research line and is supported by infrastructures such as the LoMAC laboratory, LIP\u2019s Electronics and Detectors laboratories, and Competence Centres in simulation, big data, and artificial intelligence.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h3 style=\"color: #333; margin-top: 30px;\">Research Projects<\/h3>\n\n<ul style=\"list-style: none; padding-left: 0;\">\n\n  <li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">\n    \ud83d\udd2c <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/particles4health\/research\/boneoscopy\/\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #000; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;\">BoneOscopy<\/a><br>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/particles4health\/research\/boneoscopy\/\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #000; text-decoration: none;\">\n      An European EIC Pathfinder project (\u20ac3.4 million) using live-cell spectroscopy to monitor calcium concentration during proton treatments, contributing to more effective and personalised bone cancer therapy.\n    <\/a>\n  <\/li>\n\n  <li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">\n    \u26a1 <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/particles4health\/research\/flashguard\/\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #000; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;\">FLASHGuard Project<\/a><br>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/particles4health\/research\/flashguard\/\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #000; text-decoration: none;\">\n      A novel detector based on Particle Physics Technology for ultra-fast FLASH Radiotherapy beam monitoring, improving safety and precision. The project has been recognised with the Lab2Market@T\u00e9cnico 2025 award, academic prizes, and a patent application is underway.\n    <\/a>\n  <\/li>\n\n  <li>\n    \ud83d\udca1 <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/particles4health\/team\/picomonitoring\/\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #000; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;\">PicoMonitoring<\/a><br>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.lip.pt\/particles4health\/team\/picomonitoring\/\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #000; text-decoration: none;\">\n      Development of ultra-fast particle detection systems using LGAD technology with sub-nanosecond resolution for advanced medical beam diagnostics.\n    <\/a>\n  <\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n  <h3 style=\"color: #333; margin-top: 30px;\">Collaboration and Opportunities<\/h3>\n\n  <p>\n    The group collaborates with academic and clinical partners across Europe, contributing to national and international efforts to advance radiotherapy technologies.
